Check the policy before choosing equipment
A Range Rover badge alone does not determine whether you need S5, S7 or a specified product. Send the insurer wording with your enquiry, including any installation deadline and documentation requirement. Confirm acceptance before purchasing.
Range Rover, Sport, Evoque and Velar
Include the full model, year and powertrain. Tell us whether your vehicle is a plug-in hybrid and whether it already has aftermarket security. Land Rover Defender, Discovery and Discovery Sport enquiries can also be assessed individually; equipment compatibility is not assumed across these vehicles.
Check any existing connected service
If the car already has a factory tracking or connected service, establish exactly which service is active and what it provides. Ask the insurer whether it meets the policy. This avoids buying on the assumption that an app with location information is the same as the required monitored recovery service.
Tracking and immobilisation together
Compare a suitable S5 or S7 tracker with a separate compatible immobiliser, or discuss a Meta Trak Deadlock option. Ask how driver recognition and starting authorisation work, and what happens during servicing. No installation guarantees that a vehicle cannot be stolen.
